“God’s Crazy Game Changer”

In the past months, my church, Church of the Foothills, has been going through a sermon series on the life of David. Most people who have known Christ for a number of years are familiar with the extraordinary life of … Continue reading “God’s Crazy Game Changer”

He is Risen

He is Risen!! Churches throughout the country, quite possibly the world, greet each other this way on and around Easter. As you probably know, the correct response to this greeting is, “He is Risen indeed!” After so many years of Easter church services, Easter egg hunts, and pictures with the Easter bunny (which is quite creepy in my opinion) it’s easy to lose the miracle of the day. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried, that he … Continue reading He is Risen

Twas the day before Christmas. A poem by Jess

Twas’ the day before Christmas and all through the guild All the guildies were quiet, no creatures were killed. In [Salt] we love Jesus, that’s commonly known So we also love Christmas; I know right? Mind blown! Our Savior was born; in that manger he lay The hope of the world was born on that day. Jesus was sent to the Earth through the womb But not too long later He’d go to the tomb. He came for the sinners, to save you and me. He came so that one day, we all may be free. So, we don’t sing … Continue reading Twas the day before Christmas. A poem by Jess

Salt Blog: What is a Christian Family Friendly guild?

Typically when you hear a guild that is defined as Christian the first direction people go to is Crusades, Bible thumpers, and prejudice. I have to laugh at those ridiculous statements because they are not really true statements. Yes, we are Christians, and yes we believe the Bible is the only truth. The Roman Catholic Empire did start the Crusades, not by the will of God, but by selfish desires in hopes to gain control. Are prejudice? Well if you mean that God has already dictated what is sin and what is godly then no we are not. Sin is … Continue reading Salt Blog: What is a Christian Family Friendly guild?

Salt Blog: Does God care about gaming?

This is an interesting question that could be debating over and over. My first MMORPG was World of Warcraft (WoW). I played that for 2 years before I had to quit, why you ask? Let me ask this question, why do you play games? Could it be to relax, how about to be the hero, maybe it is because you have control, or is it because there are no consequences for your actions? Is there a morality to gaming? I think there is, for the game is created to build a story that deals with Good vs Evil. In our … Continue reading Salt Blog: Does God care about gaming?
