Guild Verse: Matthew 5:13-16 (ESV)

Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that[b] they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Code of Conduct:

We are a family-friendly guild and community that is founded on the principles of Christianity based solely on the Bible. All the leadership is and will be Christians who are willing to hold to the values, principles, and truths found in Scripture. We ask that any member should respect these values even if they may not believe the same as the foundation of Salt. So each Code will be designed based on Biblical principles and basic human code of conduct. Salt stands by God before Gaming. Also understand Salt believes heavily that family, responsibility, and real life is first over gaming. Real life comes first.

Membership:

How to become a member: You connect with any officer in the guild, and they will get you a guild invite. Once you are invite you will become a “Recruit” under a 2 week probation. After probation you will become a full fledged Saltine (member).

Inactivity: If you are inactive for 6 months+ you will be given the Inactive tag in game. Regaining membership requires that you show some form of activity. In an effort to keep our roster clear for new members, any inactive player that hasn’t been online for 1 Year or more will be removed from the guild. If an inactive member should return to the game and find themselves removed from the guild he/she can talk to any officer for a new guild invite.

Membership Conduct: No cheating, abusing, exploiting, or hacking that has been stated by the game producers and policies: Arenanet. No bad language, sexual content, inappropriate content, and anything that violates Scripture. Whether you are a Christian or not please respect the leadership, fellow members, Arenanet employees, and other players. We ask that you do not harass or troll, or participate therein, fellow members, Arenanet employees, or other players.

Overvoice Code:

Conduct: Out of respect of other people and our Christian Family-Friendly principles we must keep our conversation clean. No inappropriate language, conversation, or topics will be allowed in the over voice in use. Every officer is considered a moderator, and they have the right to approach any member about the topic that may violate our code.

Forum Policy:

Our Forums are a place of community between guild members. Please include your in-game name when you register on the forum in order for us to identify you as a guild member. Everyone is welcome to post anything in any thread on the forum given that what they are posting is clean and respectful of other members and [Salt] core values. Foul language will not be permitted on our forums and will result in deletion of the post. Spamming will not be permitted and any spam comments will be deleted. Any spammers with no real information, in-game name or obvious relation to the guild that posts spam 3 or more times will be banned from the forums. Our forums need to be a clean and safe place for people of all ages and backgrounds. Anyone that does not follow these forum rules will be approached in game with a kind reminder of our rules. Further disregard of our forum policy will result in being banned from the forums. That being said, lets have some fun and clean community.

Leadership:

All leadership must be a Christian. They must be active in the guild, do their responsibility, and serve as needed by the guild. If there is a need a member who has shown investment, is a Christian, and wants to do the job will be considered. Officers must understand it is a responsibility to be an officer of the guild. All officers are required to have at least 80% guild representation and are required to be on Facebook so we can be in contact outside of game.

Choosing an Officer: Officers are chosen by the Guild Leader as the need is presented. They will meet with the Guild Leader to discuss the option to be promoted into the responsibility. Being apart of Salt is about being apart of a team under the authority of the God first and secondly, the Guild Leader. All officers are equally given a voice to help direct the guild, and are respected as official leaders of the guild. All officers are responsible to help move the guild forward as the vision for the future is made clear.

Inactivity/LOA’s/Step Down: Any officer who does not have the time to do what they were promoted for should consider stepping down respectfully as to not hinder the guild. Being an officer requires you to make sure you hold to your responsibility under a certain limitation based on LOA (Leave of Absence) for officers who need a break : sick, vacation, unavoidable dates, family, deaths, and personal issues. If your schedule changes in such a way that you are unable to do your duty for an extended period of time then you should consider stepping down. Also understand that Salt believes heavily that family, responsibility, and real life is first over gaming.
