Do you have a product that you buy regularly? Maybe a favorite cereal, or toothpaste or cleaning supplies? Have you ever been to the store to buy more and just can’t find it ANYWHERE? Have you ever eventually found it only to find it looks COMPLETELY different than the last time you bought it? Usually, when this happens, you’ll see a variation of these words written on the front: “New look; same great taste!”
Whenever this happens, I usually find myself starring at the product for far longer than is probably appropriate. I look over the package sizing, the ingredients, the nutrition facts and even after all my scouring I still think to myself “is it REALLY the same thing?!”
Well friends, I am here to tell you that when it comes to the formal website side of our Salt of the Earth community, it truly is the SAME great content!
We started the last website back in 2015. Way back in those days (I know, SO long ago, right?) we wanted to branch out in our website to something with more user-friendly features, more versatility and yes, I’ll admit, I wanted something that looked and sounded more “official”. One of the big draws of that website was the Forum option. We didn’t have discord back then, so the forums served as our out of game connection and communication. Well, since then, we’ve not only gotten a guild discord, but we have one that is THRIVING! Most, if not all, of our out of game communication is done through discord. We have a multitude of chat channels ranging from conversations of pets, recipes, in game events, builds, prayer requests, biblical discussions and more. With this wonderful platform for communication our website forums became obsolete. We did away with the forums….years ago probably. But even without that, we had a good thing going for us with the website, so we left it running.
Well, the time has come that we have said goodbye to saltgaming.org and hello to this new domain. This new site will allow us to continue to reach others through our blog posts and newsletters without paying the premium for more than we were using. The same great content you found on our previous site has been transferred here and as of April 1, 2022 our last site will be brought offline. Once that happens our former domain name will be forfeit and up for grabs. Should someone else claim that domain name in the future, please be aware they will in no way be affiliated with Salt of the Earth.
This is not the end of something good, but rather the continuation of something good….only a little better because it’s not costing our leadership money anymore. 😉
